After a disappointing result last week, Bedminster Down were keen to turn our fortunes around and get back to winning ways.

Our team talk before kick off was very straight forward, be direct, don't be afraid to take players on and don't be afraid to shoot. Also, for the first time across pre-season we started with a new formation, a risky 3-5-2, the idea to be more offensive, creating more chances and goals.

Bedminster Down started the game well in possession, wingers and defence adjusting to the new formation. 15 minutes in and Shay Wood had the first opportunity from long range, which forced Rockleaze keeper to parry, into the path of Jordon Edwards who made the score 1-0 with the follow up.

The match was competitive for the rest of the 1st half, edged by Bedminster Down.

In the 41st minute, Rockleaze latched on to a defensive error and found the net from outside of the box, 1-1.

Bedminster Down also started the 2nd half strong, Billy Davies with a weaving run, which created space for Shay Wood to find the top corner from long range, 2-1.

In the 80th minute, Bedminster Down finished off a top performance with a smart headed goal from captain Jack Prosser, assisted by a Shay Wood throw in, 3-1.

Strong performace across the pitch, but two stand out's in Mitchell Hathway & Shay Wood. Mitchell Hathway picks up the Man Of The Match. Solid at the back, not losing anything in the air or letting anyone run past him. Also still not 100% after coming back from injury, top effort!
